We have arrived…

After a lot of paperwork, and the eruption of a worldwide coronavirus panic, we finally managed to arrive in Rome. While some people wore masks on the plane (mostly incorrectly, I should add) the only notice something was up came when we landed. Instead of deplaning onto a jetway we parked on the tarmac and buses brought us to the terminal, where an infrared camera checked our body temperature in a split second. I don’t think the kids even noticed. After staying awake for the entire 8 hour flight, Fielding fell asleep the moment we landed. No joke. The exact moment wheels touched down, he fell asleep. I think we might have taken an illegal taxi (whoops) and overpaid to get to our apartment from the airport but when you are dragging 35 lbs of dead weight and too many suitcases around a direct ride is totally worth an extra 35 Euro on top of the legal rate. Or at least I hope so.
